Colorado Springs, CO – Griffis/Blessing employees will celebrate National Volunteer Month by participating in their third annual “Volunteer Day” on Friday, April 10, by spending the day working with non-profit organizations in lieu of their normal daily activities. Members of the Multifamily and Commercial groups, along with partner vendors, will donate their time and energy to one of eight non-profit organizations located in Colorado Springs, Denver or Boise.
At CASA in Colorado Springs, (www.casappr.org/volunteer-colorado-springs/), volunteers will spend their day purging closets and donating items to Goodwill. A special thanks to Seal Coat Specialists who will be donating the parking lot striping CASA also needs.
At Christmas Unlimited (www.christmasunlimited.org), volunteers will put together “Imagination Kits” which the organization will distribute during Christmas time to help inspire local children’s imaginations.
For the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (https://www.hsppr.org/), volunteers will meet at Encore at Woodmen Ridge to create cat toys and dog treats for the animals at the shelter.
Volunteers will spend the afternoon assisting with log erosion barriers at the Flying W Ranch (www.flyingw.com/Donate.aspx).
At the Colorado Springs Science Center (www.cssciencecenter.org/), employees will help staff set-up for the Yuri’s Space fundraising party.
In Denver, volunteers will be cleaning family apartment homes for the Ronald McDonald House (www.ronaldhouse.org) and working at the Golden Retriever Rescue (www.goldenrescue.com) on general property cleanup, flower planting and entertaining the dogs.
Finally at the Boise Zoo (www.zooboise.org/) in Boise, Idaho, volunteers will be helping with general landscaping and maintenance cleanup.
