Gary Winegar – President, Investment Services
Gary plays a key role in identifying and analyzing potential investment opportunities. Since joining Griffis/Blessing in 1992, he has been involved in the purchase or sale of real estate assets with a cumulative transaction value of more than $2 billion. Gary also handles the financing, refinancing and asset management for many Griffis/Blessing assets. He has worked with outside counsel in the formation of ownership entities and with CPA firms in the assessment of tax issues connected with new and existing investments. In addition, Gary has a vital role with the firm’s high net worth investors and with co-investor equity, including institutional and quasi-institutional investors.
Prior to joining Griffis/Blessing, Gary served as a Senior Manager in KPMG Peat Marwick’s Audit Department. In that capacity, he delivered audit, tax and consulting services to a variety of clients, including many in the real estate industry.
Gary is a CPA (inactive) and holds an MBA from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. He is a member of the AICPA, the Colorado Society of CPA’s and the National Multi-Housing Council. Gary is a 2001 graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute.
Gary has served as a board member in various civic organizations, including the US Bank Community Advisory Board, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Pikes Peak United Way, the Center for Non-Profit Excellence, the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs University Club, the Chancellor’s Leadership Class, the Broadmoor Community Covenants Committee, CASA, Partners In Housing, the El Paso Club, the Pikes Peak Community Foundation Real Estate Board, the Discover Goodwill Operating and Foundation Boards and the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation.
