Buck Blessing – CEO

Since founding Griffis/Blessing, Inc., in 1985 upon graduation from college, Buck has been instrumental in all aspects pertaining to the company’s dramatic growth and has directed the acquisition of properties with a cumulative value of over $2 billion. He is an authority in the real estate industry with extensive expertise in investment strategy and real estate markets.

Committed to the Colorado community, he currently serves as a Director of UMB Bank and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Colorado Succeeds and the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. He also participates as a member of Colorado Forum, Colorado Concern, and WPO/YPO.

His past involvement includes member of the Children’s Hospital of Colorado Foundation Board of Directors;  President of the Board for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center; Co-Chair of the Pikes Peak United Way Alexis De Tocqueville Foundation; Chairman of the Pikes Peak Region Better Business Bureau; President of the Downtown Partnership; Chairman of the Community Development Advisory Board; President of the Southern Colorado Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management; Chairman of the Colorado College Business and Community Alliance; and President of the Business of Arts Center Board.

In 1997, Buck was appointed to the Colorado Real Estate Commission by Governor Romer and re-appointed by Governor Owens in 2000, serving for six years, including two years as its Chairman. In 2009, he was appointed to the Colorado State Land Board by Governor Ritter, reappointed by Governor Hickenlooper in 2012 and served as its President until June 2016.

Buck’s professional and civic recognitions include the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce “Small Business Person of the Year,” one of Colorado Springs Business Journal’s “Colorado Climbers” recognizing “40 New Leaders 40 and Under,” and recipient of the Colorado College Business and Community Alliance Partner in Service Award.

Buck graduated from The Colorado College in 1985 with a BA degree in History.
